Description
Nyla leaves the countryside for a new home in the city and misses the colours and freedom of the place she knew. A mysterious comet draws her into an imaginative journey that helps her see her surroundings differently. Joe Todd-Stanton’s richly illustrated story gives change a child’s emotional scale, offering warmth and wonder while exploring home, belonging and the possibility of finding something beautiful in an unfamiliar place.
Age suitability and learning: Preschool (3-5), Primary (6-8). The illustrated story suits shared reading with younger children and more independent exploration as reading grows. Following events encourages prediction, sequencing and vocabulary; discussing the characters gives children practice recognising feelings and considering other perspectives.
