Description
Visit the busy woodland community of Brown Bear Wood, where daily life is full of neighbours, places to explore and tiny details to discover. Rachel Piercey’s verse and Freya Hartas’s richly illustrated scenes make the book a welcoming meeting of poetry and search-and-find play. Children can linger over the pictures, follow the animals’ activities and enjoy the feeling of becoming familiar with a lively little world.
Age suitability and learning: Preschool (3-5), Primary (6-8). The variety of language gives the selected age groups material to enjoy aloud and explore through discussion. Reading supports vocabulary, attention to rhythm and expressive speech; interpreting images and ideas encourages personal responses, comparison and an appreciation of how words create atmosphere.
Available at QT Toys in Battersea.
