Description
A little monkey has lost his mum, and a helpful butterfly offers to find her. Unfortunately, each description leads to an animal that is quite wrong, turning the search into a funny puzzle. Julia Donaldson’s rhymes and Axel Scheffler’s pictures invite children to compare clues and enjoy the misunderstandings, building towards a warm reunion that makes the adventure both reassuring and rewarding to share aloud.
Age suitability and learning: Preschool (3-5), Primary (6-8). Rhythm and repeated language help younger listeners join in, while primary readers can explore the words and pictures more closely. Reading aloud supports listening, sound awareness and expressive speech; following the story encourages recall and talking about what happens next.
Available at QT Toys in Battersea.
